Fourums and Guestbook The 'Valaquenta', which is Elvish for the Account of the Valar, is the second book in the 'Silmarillion' by John Ronald Reuel Tolkien (J.R.R.). It is preceded by the 'Ainulindale' and followed by the 'Quenta Silmarillion'. These three books, together with the 'Akallabeth' and 'Of the Third Age and the War of the Ring' form the greater story which is known simply as the 'Silmarillion'. It is this book—and all the history and events of the First, Second, and Third Ages—which are the focus of this site.

J.R.R. Tolkien [LINK]This Site—being dedicated to that book and the others which make up Tolkien's sweeping history of Arda, Beleriand, and Middle-Earth—includes the complete text of the 'Valaquenta', information and essays concerning that book and the rest of the 'Silmarillion', information and links concerning the other books as well as all things Tolkien, and means by which you can purchase Tolkien's books and books written about his worlds. There are also a number of other features, which can be found in the Tolkien Miscellany, including a biography of the author, random quotes, downloads, and the Tolkien Webmasters Forum.

Oxford, England [LINK] Tolkien's home was in Oxford, England, and from there he did the greatest part of his writing. I believe that a person's environment can greatly effect the work that they do.
