The 'Valaquenta', which is Elvish for the Account of the Valar, is the second book in the 'Silmarillion' by John Ronald Reuel Tolkien (J.R.R.). It is preceded by the 'Ainulindale' and followed by the 'Quenta Silmarillion'. These three books, together with the 'Akallabeth' and 'Of the Third Age and the War of the Ring' form the greater story which is known simply as the 'Silmarillion'. It is this bookand all the history and events of the First, Second, and Third Ageswhich are the focus of this site.
